Sharpe Mixers Featured in Chemical Engineering

Check out Joy LePree's article on mixing efficiency in Chemical Engineering magazine.  It features the Sharpe Mixers folding HYF-218 hydrofoil style impeller.  This impeller features a four-blade design that folds for easy installation through small openings, eliminating the need for personnel to enter the tank.  The blades open with centrifugal force and lock in place when fully open.

Our Hyflo impellers are among the most energy efficient in the industry, and when combined with premium efficient motors and higher efficiency gearboxes, can offer a sizeable cost savings - often saving thousands of dollars in operation costs and improving the payback period of the new capital equipment.

Impellers, Impellers, Impellers!

Recently we accepted a large order for impellers and steady bearing assemblies from a large food producer. However, it wasn't without its challenges. The task? To manufacture 30 large hydrofoil style impellers and 6 steady bearing assemblies in only 10 days. This would require over 140 hours of blade forming and fabrication hours - a huge task! We completed the job in just 9 days - one day sooner than promised!

Pictured here are the first 12 completed impellers. They will next be cleaned up for appearance and go through a rigorous inspection process by an engineer before being released for final packaging and shipment.
