During a sales call with a large generic drug manufacturer I was reviewing our portable mixer line and mixers 101 brochure with the manufacturing personnel.
They had been very impressed with Sharpe Mixer's SSG-100 all stainless mixers and Air lift stands (ALS-36 with quick pin locks) we supplied on a recent project. They asked me if we could supply a lab size unit similar to the full scale model with a stainless air motor.
They had searched many different companies but no one made a SS air motor lab mixer that they could find.
This is the unit we designed and built to meet the spec. The customer is very happy with it and is planning on buying multiples.
The SSLM unit features an All Stainless lube free air motor, shaft, 4” HYF218 impeller, adjustable bracket and support stand. Price for the assembly is $3950.00. Lead time is ~4-6 weeks ARO.

Sharpe Mixers Stand the Test of Time!
Other titles that came to mind for this post were "Never judge a book by its cover" or "It's what's under the hood that counts".
Let me explain.
Recently a customer returned a couple of mixers to us for a "tune-up". The mixers still worked, the customer just wanted us to give them a quick evaluation.
When the mixers arrived on our receiving dock, we were blown away! These mixers were shipped back in 1987 and have led a hard life. They are used in a picking process for a galvanizing company, and operate in an extremely caustic and corrosive environment.
The pickling process involves using a dilute solution of hot sulfuric acid to remove rust and mill scale to provide a clean metallic surface. Next, the item goes to the fluxxing tank, where it is dipped in ammonium chloride. Finally, the galvanizing process involves dipping the product into molten zinc, which is heated at 820 to 850 F. These processes create quite a corrosive environment!
So after 25 years of service in this harsh environment, these mixer drives were returned to us for refurbishing, with an emphasis of keeping costs down for our customer who was operating under a tight budget.
What did our evaluation find? The shaft bearing and seal on each unit, which are subjected to the corrosive vapors directly above the pickling tank, were in need of replacement - that was it! These mixers still have their original motors and gearboxes (including original gearing and bearings), and will continue to use these original components as they are returned to service.
This customer will only purchase Sharpe mixers due to our proven track record in their facility.

Pacific Northwest Food Processors Exhibit - Jan 16th - 18th, 2012
This exhibition is always a good show for Sharpe Mixers, and this year was no different.
Despite some nasty weather we saw a wide variety of customers, new and existing.
Some are food processors, mostly in the fruit and vegetable processing industry.
Others are OEM accounts that supply Sharpe Mixers with their process, water and wastewater treatment systems.
The all stainless steel portable mixer we displayed at this year’s show attracted a good deal of attention.
Everyone recognized the advantage of the new quick-clamp assembly.
EPS provides a wide variety of products to the food processing industry including mixing and agitation, filtration, cooling and heating, water & waste treatment.
Michael Bauman, pictured above, is a new salesman for EPS, coming from the food process industry in the Yakima Valley, where he will be focusing his efforts.
